RIH atriumWho we are

A listing of current lab members can be found here. Information about joining the lab can be found here.

What we do

The central research theme is the genetic basis of adaptation. A combination of empirical and theoretical approaches from population genetics and related areas, such as statistical genetics and molecular evolution, are used. Empirical research focuses on Arabidopsis thaliana, but we work with data from a wide range of organisms, including dogs and humans. For further infomation, see our research page and our list of papers.

Where we are

We are part of the Molecular and Computational Biology Section (effectively a department) of the Department of Biological Sciences (relevant only for undergraduate teaching purposes). We are also part of the Computational Biology group (which has no official status, but runs a graduate program). Clear? (If not, the official web pages are unlikely to help...) We are located in the spiffy new Ray R. Irani Hall (RRI; see picture of "soaring atrium" on left) on USC's University Park Campus, right in the middle of Los Angeles (RRI may still be labeled MCB on the maps).
